2 Corinthians 10:3-5, 17-18
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ… But, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

As a child, I always wanted to serve in the army and I loved reading books related to wars. My Dad had a collection of books that I would often take and read and picture myself in those situations. I dreamt of being a member of the winning side and our victories were hard fought but well won. Superheroes were great too but the fun of being a part of a group of men fighting side by side was a lot more appealing to me. As I grew up, I realized that I was not the athlete I dreamt I was and my strength was more in the area of encouraging others and building relationships, not fighting battles. Then I was saved by the grace of God and now I’m in the army, albeit a different one!

As Paul states so rightly, we are fighting a battle but not one that is fought on the battlefields with weapons that cause physical harm to anyone. Our battle is fought against the forces of evil that seek to devour every man, woman and child and keep them away from the saving grace of God. What the world does not see is how they are held captive by Satan who might be unseen but is very real. Everyday I adorn the armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-20) and step out in battle and my joy is in knowing that my Lord Jesus Christ has won the battle when He rose from the dead. My strength lies in the Lord and so is my confidence. Are you in the same battle with me or are you living under the grips of sin in Satan’s kingdom?

In His Loving Service,
ServantBoy

Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

    Vineet,
How true this message is, we are in a battle, and they are playing for keeps. I daily have to battle as do you for our faith, and my faith is my sheild, my sword is the truth, and my ammunition is the Bible, my morning devotions online, and the time I spend in prayer. Asking God to gird me for battle daily that I may be effective and armed to repel the attacks of the enemy. Great message Brother, have a great weekend
    God Bless

      Jim,
Thank you for encouraging me by your words. They are so effective in confirming to us what God is speaking to us and I thank you for being a good friend and a faithful brother in Christ that cares.
      Blessings,
      Vineet

  2. Thank you for calling us to battle! Once at church, a woman got permission to speak out a vision she’d had while there. She saw two ships. One was very lovely, full of music and people who were laughing and drinking, eating and enjoying themselves. The other ship was not as opulent. There were wounded people on board to be cared for and bandaged before it set out again. But there was joy and a light shined there. And the woman sharing her vision told us God asked us which ship we were on. Let’s fight on in our Lord’s service. blessings and love, deb

      Deb,
I love the vision the Lord laid on that lady’s heart. I certainly would like to believe I am on the ship that was not as opulent and where the joy of the Lord was sweeter than the pain of our wounds. Thank you for sharing that illustration and thank you for your continued encouragement.
      Blessings to you and yours,
      Vineet

    Vineet,

I’m glad that we all are a part of that vast army…and a member of that winning side…When the world thinks that the weapon we use is just ‘old fashioned’…they forget that we have someone ahead of us who have won the battle with the same weapons…Glad to be in that winning team…to use the weapons and the armour of God…The great Conquerer.

    God Bless,
    Rani

      Rani,
Yes, I am so glad that we are a part of the same army and our weapons though old are real and powerful. Recently in our Bible study, we were reminded that we need to bind everything ill that enters our mind in the name of Jesus and cast them away. While it sounded magical and mystical, it was something I’ve used since and I can assure anyone how powerful the name of our Lord Jesus is because those thoughts vanish in an instant! Praise the Lord.
      Blessings,
      Vineet

  4. Vineet,

I am in! I AM A SOLDIER IN THE ARMY OF OUR LORD. I liked what you said…you always imagined being in the army of the winning side. And I am glad…you chose this side…because every time we have victory in our camp. Thank you Jesus for recruiting me into your army along side many brothers and sisters all over the world. And for those who are searching….COME AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD!

    God is still in business….

    Thank you.

    Gladwell
