Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

A sacrifice is an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God. If Jesus was the perfect sacrifice that was sufficient to end sacrifices altogether, what is the reason Paul is asking us to offer our bodies to God as living sacrifices and where do we make this sacrifice?

In return for God’s mercy upon us because of our sinfulness, Paul is asking us to consecrate our entire life – sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life – to glorify Him. The altar is the world and our transformed life in action is the sacrifice as an offering to Him. We are called to serve Christ to the world in EVERY area of our lives. We no longer are working or living for ourselves but for the glory of God alone. Have you submitted every area in your life to Jesus for His glory?

In His Loving Service,
ServantBoy

    Thank you Vineet,
There is always some area to which I am convicted and need to turn over to Him. I pray daily that He will put me where He wants me and send someone I can share His love with. I want to be a true and living sacrifice to Him. As long as there is any (me) left, there is going to be room for more Him. Thank you for this message brother.

Thank you for your comment. I continually battle with my flesh but when I pray over my situation, find relief and comfort in Christ. Thank you for being open and thank you for your wonderful ministry through your blog. God is glorified through your life.

  2. Thank you Vineet. Its true when Jesus died it was once for all. And since we cannot die again, Our Living Sacrifice takes a dying…a letting go of some sort on things that still have a hold of us in this life. Yes, Vineet. I die and I die daily. Some parts of the dying me are small and invisible but others, are radical and speedily. In a sense, we are still a work in process. I want to offer myself always to Him as a living sacrifice.

    God bless you!

Thank you Gladwell for the timely and apt words. I want to die to myself and let Christ be glorified because when we are broken, Christ is glorified. Thank you for your encouragement and support and for the wonderful ministry you have through your blog and comments on the many Christian bloggers in blogosphere. You are a blessing to many.
